Ep.1-2 When defilements take control and the Dhamma as the teacher in place of the Buddha

Listening to the Dhamma is having the Dhamma, which is the words
of the Fully Enlightened Buddha, well spoken and already proclaimed,
serving as the Teacher in place of the Buddha himself, just as in the time
when the Buddha had not yet entered final Nibbāna. Whatever words were spoken, those words still remain; they are the words of the Buddha,
not the words of anyone else.

Ordinary moments when the mind is untouched by defilements are one thing. But when defilements heavily dominate the mind and manifest outwardly—is it not like being possessed by a demon? Just moments ago it was not like this; your manners and speech were polite and gentle. Yet, as soon as you succumb to the power of these defilements, it is no different from a demonic possession. Both your actions and your speech undergo a complete transformation.
