The Perfection of Energy



The Commentary to the “Basket of Conduct” defines energy, viriya, as follows:

Energy has the characteristic of striving;

its function is to fortify;

its manifestation is infatigability;

an occasion for the arousing of energy,

or a sense of spiritual urgency, is its proximate cause.
